Learning Support Assistant – Autism Norwich Norfolk
4myschools are seeking a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant -Autism specialist, to join a vibrant school today! As a LSA specialising in autism support, you will work closely with students with autism spectrum conditions, assisting them in their learning and social difficulties, such as communication challenges, sensory over stimulation and restrictive behavioural habits. Your role will involve implementing tailored strategies to support their individual needs and promoting a positive classroom experience. While always facilitating classroom activities and contributing to creating an overall positive and productive learning environment. Join our team at 4myschools and make a difference!
Responsibilities of the LSA Autism Norwich:
Provide direct one-on-one and group support to students with autism during sessions and in the classroom.
Develop and implement individualised therapy plans in collaboration with teachers and parents.
Train and support staff in implementing communication strategies and interventions.
Foster a supportive, inclusive & encouraging environment to help students with their social interactions.
Assist in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) and monitoring and maintaining progress in accordance with the relevant Educational Health Care Plans (EHCP’S) and adjusting where necessary.
Collaborate with teachers and other staff to adapt lessons and activities to meet students’ needs.
Requirements for the LSA Autism Norwich:
Experience working with children with autism or special educational needs is preferred.
Relevant qualifications in special education, child development, or a related field.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with diverse needs.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
