Daily Rate: £75-£90 per day
Are you passionate about supporting children with speech, language, and communication needs? Do you have experience using communication tools such as PECS or Makaton? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join a dedicated team at a welcoming school in Sudbury, Suffolk.
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work with children who need additional support in their communication skills. This role offers both full-time and part-time positions, depending on your availability.
Responsibilities for SEN LSA Jobs Sudbury:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to children with speech, language, and communication needs.
- Utilize communication tools such as PECS or Makaton to enhance students’ ability to communicate effectively.
- Work closely with the SENCO and class teacher to develop tailored support plans.
- Assist in delivering lessons and activities that promote language development and social interaction.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where children feel supported and confident in their abilities.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with speech, language, and communication needs, ideally in a school setting.
- Proficiency in using PECS or Makaton (or willingness to be trained).
- A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to working with children.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and parents.
- A passion for helping children overcome communication barriers and achieve their full potential.
- A relevant qualification in SEN support or childcare (desirable but not essential) e.g. CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools, Autism Awareness, Makaton, etc
