About the Role:
We are currently seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive specialist school in South Ockendon. The successful candidate will support students with a range of needs, including Autism, SEMH, and challenging behaviour. You will work alongside a skilled and supportive team to provide tailored interventions, helping students overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
– Support pupils with SEMH, Autism, and challenging behaviour on a 1:1 or small group basis
– Assist the class teacher with differentiated lesson plans to meet the individual needs of students
– Implement behaviour management strategies to promote a positive learning environment
– Build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff to ensure the best possible outcomes
– Encourage social development and life skills as part of the wider curriculum
Key Requirements:
– Previous experience working in an SEN environment is essential
– Experience with SEMH needs, Autism, and challenging behaviour is highly desirable
– Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
– A compassionate, patient, and resilient attitude as a SEND Teaching Assistant South Ockendon
– Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is desirable but not essential
