Are you a dedicated and enthusiastic Music Teacher looking for a rewarding new role? 4myschools is excited to present a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Music Teacher to join a vibrant Performing Arts department in a school in Welwyn. This full-time role begins in January 2025 for an initial two terms, with the potential to become permanent.
In this role, you will teach music across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to lead extracurricular activities. You’ll inspire students by delivering engaging lessons that combine traditional instrumental teaching with modern music technology. At Key Stage 3, students are introduced to the elements of music through practical work and theory, progressing to more advanced concepts such as chords by Year 9. They will also complete creative projects incorporating singing, instruments, and music technology. The classroom is fully equipped with music software and keyboards, allowing for dynamic, hands-on learning experiences.

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
- A recognized teaching qualification in music with experience teaching across Key Stages 3 to 4.
- Strong instrumental teaching skills, particularly with the keyboard.
- Experience with or an interest in using music technology to enhance learning.
- Passion for music education and a commitment to inspiring students of all abilities.
- Strong classroom management skills and a collaborative approach to working within a department.
- Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and high-quality music lessons to students across Key Stages 3 to 5.
- Teach instrumental skills, particularly keyboard, to students in KS3.
- Utilize music technology software to enhance learning and creativity in the classroom.
- Inspire a love of music and encourage students to develop their musical skills and talents.
- Collaborate with the Performing Arts department to create a positive and supportive environment for students.
- Contribute to extracurricular activities, including music performances, concerts, and school events.
