We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Film/Media Studies Teacher to join our dedicated department on a fixed-term basis, starting in January 2025. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher to inspire and engage students through the fascinating world of film and media.
Key Responsibilities for a Film/Media Studies Teacher:
- Deliver engaging lessons in Film and Media Studies to students at Key Stage 3 and 4
- Design, plan, and assess high-quality lessons that follow the curriculum guidelines
- Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and media literacy through diverse teaching methods
- Support students in developing practical skills, including film production, analysis, and media theory
- Provide constructive feedback to students, tracking progress and offering support as needed
- Collaborate with the wider department and staff to promote cross-curricular learning
- Contribute to the wider school community and extracurricular activities related to film and media
Requirements:
- Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent
- Degree in Film Studies, Media Studies, or a related subject
- Experience teaching Film/Media Studies at Key Stage 3 and GCSE level (preferred)
- Passionate about film, media, and engaging students with these subjects
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and foster a positive classroom environment
