4myschools are looking for a English Teacher to work at a school in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire.
We are looking for an experienced and passionate English Teacher to deliver high-quality lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will be responsible for inspiring students to love literature and language, fostering a positive learning environment, and helping pupils achieve their full potential. This will be a September 2025 start for at least two terms.
Key Responsibilities for a English Teacher
- Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons in English to students of all abilities.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Contribute to the development of the English curriculum and resources.
- Support students’ personal development, encouraging their confidence and participation.
- Participate in school-wide events, extracurricular activities, and professional development.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Enhanced Child Only Workforce DBS (or willing to obtain one)
- A degree in English or a related field.
- A strong passion for teaching and literature.
- The ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in teaching English at secondary school level (preferred but not essential).
- A commitment to personal and professional development.
