Daily Rate: £85-£95 per day no Umbrella
EYFS LSA Jobs Bury-St-Edmunds. Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs in their early years? A wonderful opportunity has arisen to join a nurturing and inclusive school dedicated to helping every child achieve their full potential.
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to provide one-to-one support for a child with ASD in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This part-time role is ideal for someone with experience in SEN support who is looking to make a meaningful impact in a supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored one-to-one support for a child with ASD in the EYFS.
- Assist in implementing individual learning and behaviour plans.
- Use appropriate strategies and resources to engage and support the child’s learning and development.
- Foster a positive and nurturing environment to help the child feel safe, confident, and valued.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to ensure consistent support.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with ASD or other SEN.
- Knowledge of sensory needs and experience in implementing sensory-based learning or therapeutic activities.
- Patience, understanding, and the ability to keep students on task.
- Familiarity with communication tools such as PECS, Makaton, or alternative communication systems.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, working closely with teachers, specialists, and parents.
- Ability to provide personal care, if required.
- A relevant qualification in SEN support or childcare (desirable but not essential) e.g. CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools, Autism Awareness, Makaton, etc
