4myschools are looking for a KS1 Teaching Assistant to work at a school in Broxbourne, Hertfordshire.
4myschools are currently seeking a passionate and motivated KS1 Teaching Assistant to support our Year 1 and Year 2 classes. The successful candidate will assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons, supporting children’s individual needs, and ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment. This is a full-time role, offering the opportunity to make a real difference in the educational journey of our youngest learners. This is an immediate start until the end of the academic year (July 2025)
Key Responsibilities for a KS1 Teaching Assistant
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students in Year 1 and Year 2.
- Assist with the preparation and delivery of lessons, ensuring all children are engaged and supported.
- Support children with their academic and personal development, both inside and outside of the classroom.
- Help maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Assist with classroom management and ensure children are following instructions and guidelines.
- Provide feedback to the class teacher on student progress and development.
- Help with the supervision of students during lunch and break times as required.
Requirements
- Experience working with children, ideally within a primary school setting (KS1 experience is desirable but not essential).
- A positive and proactive attitude with a genuine passion for helping young children succeed.
- Good communication skills, both with children and staff.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
- Patience, creativity, and a calm, empathetic approach to supporting children’s learning and development.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
