The Role:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Maths Instructor to join an Alternative Provision setting in Braintree. This full-time, permanent position is perfect for an educator who is committed to making a difference in the lives of students who benefit from a non-mainstream educational environment. The successful candidate will start in September and will be instrumental in delivering Functional Skills Maths to students who require tailored support.
Key Responsibilities:
– Deliver engaging and effective Maths lessons focused on Functional Skills.
– Create and implement lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students in an alternative provision setting.
– Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
– Develop and maintain a positive learning environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
– Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
– Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
– Proven experience teaching Maths, preferably within an alternative provision or SEN setting.
– Strong knowledge of Functional Skills Maths curriculum and assessment methods.
– Ability to inspire and motivate students with diverse learning needs.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
