About the Role:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Learning Support Assistant (LSA) in Brentwood for a full-time role at one of our partner schools. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Role Overview:
As a SEND Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs. Working closely with the classroom teacher and the SENDCo, you will provide tailored support to students, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their full potential. This is a full-time position, starting after the October Half Term.
Key Responsibilities:
– Provide 1:1 and group support to students with a range of SEND, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
– Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and other personalised learning strategies.
– Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting the social and emotional development of students.
– Support students with personal care, where necessary.
– Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure students receive the support they need.
– Monitor and track student progress, offering feedback and assistance as required.
What We’re Looking For:
– Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role with SEND children.
– Knowledge and understanding of various SEND needs and effective strategies for support.
– Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping children succeed.
– Strong communication and teamwork skills.
– Ability to manage challenging behaviours with a calm and supportive approach.
– Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
