Our client, a vibrant primary school, is seeking an experienced Part Time LSA Job Chelmsford to work 1:1 with a student who has an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP). This role also includes midday assistant (MDA) duties, supporting the child during their lunch period to ensure a smooth and safe transition across their morning activities.
Key Responsibilities:
– 1:1 Support: Provide targeted support to a child with specific needs as outlined in their EHCP. Including assistance with learning activities, emotional support, and behaviour management.
– Midday Supervision: Ensure the child’s safety and well-being during lunch breaks, facilitating positive social interactions and supporting them through lunchtime routines.
– Collaboration with SEN Team: Work closely with SENCo, teachers, and other support staff to implement the EHCP. Ensure the child’s development is at the heart of all activities.
– Adaptable and Responsive Support: Be ready to adjust strategies based on the child’s daily needs, promoting a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Requirements:
– Relevant Experience: Prior experience working with children with additional needs in an educational setting is essential.
– Knowledge of EHCPs: Understanding of EHCPs and experience working towards specific educational and developmental goals.
– Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to foster a collaborative approach to support.
– Patience and Empathy: A genuine desire to make a positive impact, alongside the patience and understanding needed to help children thrive
