The Role:
Are you a passionate and dedicated Art Teacher looking for a rewarding role where you can make a significant impact on students’ lives? An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Hemel Hempstead. This role not only focuses on teaching Art but may also involve assisting with other subjects such as PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic education) and DT (Design and Technology).
Key Responsibilities:
– Deliver engaging and inspiring Art lessons tailored to the individual needs of students in the PRU.
– Develop and implement creative lesson plans that foster a love for Art and encourage self-expression.
– Assist in teaching PSHE and DT as required, providing a well-rounded educational experience.
– Create a supportive and nurturing classroom environment that encourages positive behaviour and learning.
– Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
– Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for students.
– Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
– Proven experience teaching Art, preferably within a PRU or similar setting.
– Ability to teach PSHE and DT is highly desirable.
– Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage and motivate students.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine passion for helping students achieve their potential.
