About the Role
Are you a dedicated and passionate SENCO looking for an exciting new challenge in alternative provision? We are seeking an experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join a dynamic team in Sudbury, Suffolk. This full-time position is perfect for an individual who is committed to making a difference in the lives of students with diverse needs.
Key Responsibilities
– Lead and manage the SEN department to ensure the highest standards of teaching and learning.
– Develop and implement EHCP’s for students with special educational needs.
– Provide guidance and support to teachers and support staff on best practices for inclusive education.
– Coordinate with external agencies, parents, and carers to support student progress and well-being.
– Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEN provision, making adjustments as necessary.
– Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to SEN provision.
Candidate Requirements
– National SENCO qualification.
– Proven experience as a SENCO, ideally within an alternative provision setting.
– In-depth knowledge of SEN legislation, policies, and best practices.
– Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
– Commitment to continuous professional development and keeping up to date with new research and developments in SEN education.
