Introduction:

We are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a leading SEN/Alternative Provision provider in Sudbury. Our client is seeking a passionate and dedicated Outreach Worker to support young people aged 16-25 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated individual looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people in alternative education settings.

Key Responsibilities:

– Provide tailored support and guidance to young people with SEND, facilitating their educational, social, and emotional development.
– Develop and implement individual learning plans in collaboration with educational staff, families, and external agencies.
– Conduct regular outreach visits to students’ homes or designated community settings to deliver personalised support.
– Foster a positive and inclusive environment, encouraging students to engage actively in their education and personal development.
– Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support for each student.
– Maintain accurate records of student progress and regularly report to senior staff and relevant stakeholders.
– Assist in developing strategies to manage challenging behaviours and promote positive interactions.

Requirements 

– Experience working with young people with SEND, particularly those aged 16-25.
– A strong understanding of SEN and alternative provision settings.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with young people and their families.
– The ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
– A commitment to promoting inclusion and equality in education.
– A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for outreach visits.

Desirable Qualifications:

– Relevant qualifications in education, youth work, or social care.
– Training in behaviour management and de-escalation techniques.
– Knowledge of local support services and resources for young people with SEND.
