4myschools are looking for a Social Communication Teaching Assistant for a School in Chelmsford, Essex.
We are recruiting for a Social Communication Teaching Assistant on behalf of a thriving and inclusive educational setting. This role is a full-time (FT) position, initially on a 12-month contract with the possibility of becoming permanent.
About the Role as Social Communication Teaching Assistant:
As a Social Communication Teaching Assistant, you will:
– Work closely with students who have social communication difficulties, including those on the autism spectrum.
– Support the classroom teacher in delivering tailored support for individual learners.
– Help develop communication skills and encourage social interaction.
– Create a safe and nurturing environment to promote students’ personal development.
– Assist in managing behaviour and adapting classroom activities to meet students’ unique needs.
What We’re Looking For:
– Previous experience working with children or young adults with social communication needs, particularly within a school environment.
– A compassionate and patient approach, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Knowledge of special educational needs (SEN), especially autism spectrum disorders (ASD), is highly desirable.
– A proactive and flexible attitude, with the ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and parents alike.
