Learning Support Assistant – 1:1 Reception Support (Part-Time)

Are you passionate about supporting young learners in their early development? Whether you’re an experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA) or have a background in EYFS, childcare, or social care, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s life.

We are seeking a dedicated LSA to work one-to-one with a four-year-old girl in Reception who is currently working at an 18-month developmental level. This role will begin after Easter and will initially be part-time (8:45 AM – 11:45 AM, Monday to Friday), with the potential for additional lunchtime duties and a full-time position from September (which could be a job-share if preferred).

You will be working in a popular and welcoming school with a strong Christian ethos, celebrating diversity and inclusion.

About the Role:

• Supporting a non-verbal child using PECS as an initial communication tool.
• Encouraging independence and working closely with the SENDCo to monitor progress and assess developmental milestones.
• Providing personal care as required.
• Helping to develop mobility and understanding through structured activities and play.
• Creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment that supports social and emotional development.

Ideal Candidate for EYFS LSA Jobs Clacton on Sea:

• Experience working with EYFS or young children with additional needs.
• A L2 or L3 childcare or Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential
• A passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Understanding of early childhood development and SEND support.
• A patient, nurturing, and encouraging approach to learning.
• Willingness to support personal care and mobility needs.
