4myschools are looking for a Food Technology Teacher to work at a secondary school in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Food Technology Teacher to join a vibrant Secondary school in Stevenage. This is a full-time, temporary position, starting after the Easter break and continuing until at least May half term, with the possibility of extension depending on the needs of the school.
Responsibilities as a Food Technology Teacher :
- Teach Food Technology across key stages, delivering engaging lessons that cover both practical and theoretical aspects of the subject.
- Develop students’ skills in cooking, food preparation, nutrition, and understanding of food science.
- Assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them reach their full potential.
- Foster a passion for healthy eating and sustainability within the curriculum.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of extracurricular activities, where appropriate.
- Maintain a safe and well-organized classroom environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
- Has a relevant teaching qualification (e.g., QTS, PGCE) and experience in teaching Food Technology.
- Is passionate about food, cooking, and nutrition, with the ability to inspire students.
- Demonstrates excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
- Can create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel supported.
- Is adaptable and proactive, with a strong work ethic and enthusiasm for the role.
- An enhanced DBS or willing to obtain one.
