Job Responsibilities:

– Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality physical education lessons to students across different age groups and abilities.
– Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
– Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the national curriculum and the school’s objectives.
– Encourage students to participate actively in sports, helping them develop their skills, fitness, and confidence.
– Organise and supervise extracurricular sports activities, including inter-school competitions and clubs.
– Monitor and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential.
– Collaborate with colleagues to organise sports events, such as sports days, tournaments, and trips.
– Stay updated with the latest developments in physical education, incorporating innovative teaching techniques and resources into your lessons.

Requirements:

– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant academic qualifications in physical education or a related field.
– Experience teaching physical education at the secondary school level or equivalent.
– Excellent knowledge of the national curriculum and current best practices in physical education.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
– Enthusiasm for sports and the ability to inspire students to participate actively and enjoy physical activities.
– Dedication to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle among students.
– Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
– Proactive approach to professional development, willing to learn and implement new teaching strategies.
– Safeguarding and first aid qualifications (or willingness to obtain them).
