4myschools are looking for a SEMH LSA with care background to work in schools in Kings Lynn, Norfolk.

Do you have a background in care and a passion for supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are looking for a dedicated SEMH Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our team in King’s Lynn. If you are compassionate, patient, and committed to making a positive impact, this could be the perfect role for you!

Responsibilities as a SEMH LSA:

• Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to access the curriculum and engage in learning.
• Assist in managing student behaviour using positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques.
• Support the emotional and social development of students by creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
• Work closely with the class teacher and other staff to ensure students’ individual needs are met.
• Help students build self-confidence and independence, encouraging them to take an active role in their learning.
• Assist with the planning and delivery of tailored learning activities that meet the needs of SEMH students.
• Monitor and track students’ progress, providing feedback and support where necessary.
• Liaise with parents and carers to keep them informed about their child’s progress and well-being.

Requirements:

• A background in care (e.g., care assistant, support worker, etc.) or experience working with individuals with SEMH, autism, or other learning needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
• Compassionate and patient approach, with a commitment to providing high-quality support to vulnerable students.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour with confidence and sensitivity.
• Team player, able to work collaboratively with teaching staff, support staff, and parents.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undertake).
