About the Role: We are recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking and inclusive school in Basildon that specializes in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This role is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate and proactive SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team on a temp-to-permanent basis.
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
Work closely with teaching staff to support students with SEMH needs in both group and one-to-one settings.
Implement personalized strategies to promote engagement, learning, and emotional well-being.
Help maintain a safe and nurturing classroom environment.
Support the social and emotional development of students, fostering resilience and self-confidence.
Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure holistic support for each student.
About You: To succeed in this role, you should:
Have experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, either in an educational or care setting.
Be patient, empathetic, and resilient, with a genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable learners.
Hold a relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Youth Work, or equivalent) or have demonstrable experience.
Be confident in managing challenging behaviour in a positive and constructive manner.
Have a proactive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
