Are you an experienced and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant Job Basildon looking for a rewarding role? We are seeking a dedicated LSA to support a Year 3 child with autism in a welcoming primary school in Basildon. This is a full-time, temp-to-perm position, offering long-term career progression within a supportive educational environment.
SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Basildon – Temp to Perm – Immediate Start
Position: SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
Location: Basildon, Essex
Contract Type: Temp to Perm
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
The Role:
Provide one-to-one support for a Year 3 child with autism, ensuring a nurturing and structured learning environment.
Implement tailored strategies to support learning, social development, and emotional regulation.
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to deliver a personalised support plan.
Foster independence and confidence in the child’s learning journey.
Use a patient, calm, and proactive approach to behaviour management.
The Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with children with autism and additional needs (school-based experience preferred).
A caring and adaptable approach, with strong communication skills.
Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, or other SEN strategies (desirable but not essential).
Ability to build a positive and trusting relationship with the child and staff.
A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is advantageous.
