4myschools are looking for SEN Learning Support Assistant to work in Primary Schools in Burston, Norfolk.
Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are currently seeking an experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a friendly primary school in Burston, Norfolk. This role offers both daily supply and long-term opportunities, allowing flexibility to suit your availability and preferences.
About the Role:
As an SEN LSA, you will be working closely with children who have a range of special educational needs. You will provide tailored support to enable these children to access the curriculum, develop essential skills, and thrive in the classroom. The role involves both short-term daily supply cover and the possibility of longer-term assignments, depending on your preference.
Key Responsibilities for a SEN Learning Support Assistant :
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to children with SEN.
- Assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and support targets.
- Encourage the development of social, emotional, and academic skills.
- Help create an inclusive, safe, and engaging learning environment.
- Collaborate with class teachers and other staff to monitor progress and adapt support where necessary.
- Support children with personal care and mobility needs if required.
- Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children, particularly those with SEN (preferred but not essential).
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for supporting children’s development.
- A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) would be an advantage.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- An enhanced DBS (Child workforce only) or willing to obtain one.
