4myschools are looking for a Primary Teacher to work at a SEN school in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire.

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Primary Teacher to join a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Cheshunt with an immediate start until at least Christmas. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a small, supportive team in a caring environment where each child’s individual needs are at the heart of everything we do.

You will be responsible for teaching a class of children with varying SEN needs. The role requires an experienced teacher who is committed to providing high-quality, tailored education, ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed and develop to their full potential.

Key Responsibilities for a SEN Primary Teacher

• Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons tailored to the needs of students with a variety of SEN
• Work with a team of teaching assistants to support students both inside and outside the classroom
• Develop individual learning plans and adapt resources to meet the specific needs of each child
• Foster a nurturing, safe, and supportive classroom environment
• Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to parents and the school leadership team
• Collaborate with SENCOs, therapists, and other professionals to ensure holistic support for each child
• Promote inclusivity, ensuring all students feel valued and empowered in their learning journey

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (experience in SEN teaching is preferred, but not essential)
• A passion for working with children with special educational needs
• Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
• A creative and flexible approach to teaching and learning
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong, positive relationships with students
• Experience working with children with autism, learning disabilities, or other SEN needs is desirable
