SENCo Jobs Felixstowe Suffolk. We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to join our vibrant school community in Felixstowe, Suffolk. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with special educational needs. Our client school is mainstream, and the position offers flexibility with both full-time and part-time options available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the provision for students with special educational needs, ensuring they receive appropriate support and resources to achieve their full potential.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to develop and implement EHCP’s
- Monitor and assess the progress of students with special educational needs, making adjustments to interventions and support strategies as necessary.
- Provide guidance and support to teaching staff on best practices for inclusive teaching and differentiation to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
- Maintain accurate records of students’ progress, assessments, and interventions in compliance with statutory requirements and school policies.
- Stay abreast of developments in special educational needs provision, attending relevant training and professional development opportunities as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant experience working with students with special educational needs.
- A recognised qualification in Special Educational Needs Coordination (SENCo) or willingness to work towards achieving this qualification.
- Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation relating to special educational needs and disabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a culture of inclusivity and high expectations for all students.
