4myschools are looking for a Year 2 Teacher to work at a school in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire. This is a January 2025 start for at least two terms.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 2 Teacher to join our vibrant primary school in Potters Bar for a fixed-term contract starting in January 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about fostering young minds and helping children thrive in a nurturing, inclusive environment.
About the Role:
As a Year 2 Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and inspiring lessons, supporting the academic and personal development of all students. You will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team, including two teaching assistants (TAs) who support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 basis, allowing you to focus on the wider needs of the class.
The children in your class are enthusiastic learners, and you will have a positive impact on their education during the two terms you will be with us.
Key Responsibilities for a Year 2 Teacher
- Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all children feel valued and supported.
- Work collaboratively with the TAs to support children with SEN and ensure that their learning needs are met.
- Monitor and assess the progress of students, providing feedback and setting achievable targets for development.
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed of their child’s progress.
- Foster a love of learning and help students develop key skills in line with the national curriculum.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience working with children in a primary school setting, ideally in Year 2.
- Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
- Experience supporting children with SEN is desirable, though not essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Enthusiastic, patient, and committed to making a difference in children’s education.
